After
organizing six successful editions of the India Internet Day, The Indus
Entrepreneurs, (TiE Delhi-NCR) is organizing the 7th ‘India
Internet Day 2018, themed: The Third Wave on 26th April
2018, at the Leela Ambience, Gurugram.
Speaking
about the upcoming event, Geetika Dayal, Executive Director, TiE
Delhi-NCR commented, “Over the last couple of years, Internet has
taken huge leaps in terms of speed, availability, connectivity and has helped
bring the world closer to everyone - whether it is to acquire information,
drive change, connect continents, drive business or for entertainment the
internet is essential to move forward. In fact, most start-ups depend entirely
on the internet. At this year’s India Internet Day, we plan to discuss the same
with the best minds and mentors of our country.”
This
year’s India Internet Day will be graced by dignitaries likeAnanth Narayanan
(CEO, Myntra); Deep Kalra (Group CEO, MakeMyTrip); Satyan Gajwani (Vice
Chairman, Times Internet); Dilip Asbe (MD & CEO, NPCI) among many
other business heads and industry veterans talking on interesting topics such
as “Evolution of Internet Economy in Key Global Markets”; “Elephant in the
Room: Data & Security”.
With
400mn internet users, India
is ranked second in the world and is rapidly going after acquiring the next
300mn users. Going forward it is essential we know who these users will be and
what will their online behavior be like. With new technologies like AI, ML,
connected cars, and smart homes disrupting the lives of people it will be
interesting to know what else is in store for us.
Last
year, India Internet Day was a big success. The entrepreneurs received
mentoring from renowned industry professionals like Kalyan
Krishnamurthy, CEO, Flipkart,Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO Ola Cabs, Mahesh
Bhalerao, Android Partnerships Asia Pacific, Google amongst others who
shared insights about the disruption caused in startup sector after
demonetization.
