Tech Mahindra Sets Up Its R&D Arm ‘Makers Lab’ In The US And Germany

 ‘Makers Lab’ in Dallas & Munich to drive co-innovation & digital transformation with customers, partners and academia by leveraging Next Gen Technologies

Tech Mahindra Ltd. a leading provider of digital transformation, consulting and business reengineering services and solutions, has announced strategic investments in the U.S. and Germany. A research and development center ‘Makers Lab’ has been inaugurated today in Munich, Germany and at Plano, Dallas, USA.

The Maker’s Lab is a research & development hub for co-innovation of solutions and services of the future with customers, partner companies, research institutions, universities, and start-ups.

Makers Lab development work is focused on next gen technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), Augmented Reality/ Virtual Reality, 5G – Network of the future. There is a range of business problems that Makers lab aims to solve in the future to enhance citizen services and customer experiences.

Makers Lab In Plano, Dallas

The new Makers Lab in Plano, Texas has been established to focus on technology innovations to solve business problems by increasing efficiency and reducing time to market, thereby, enabling clients to stay ahead of the curve. Tech Mahindra, as a part of its collaboration with the University of Texas, will be sponsoring research projects, and encouraging students to leverage cutting-edge technology solutions in their projects. Tech Mahindra would also be offering internship opportunities to around 20 students at the Makers lab.

Makers Lab In Munich, Germany

The research and development centre ‘Makers Lab’ opened in Munich will provide 100 per cent on-site support to customers in their digital transformation journey. Located at 20 Riesstrasse in Munich’s Moosach district, the new Tech Mahindra office currently employs approximately 120 people who primarily work as Process Consultants, Solution Architects, Programmers and Digital Coaches. The workforce is expected to more than double within the next 3 years.

With the launch of the Makers Lab in the U.S. and Germany, Tech Mahindra now has seven R&D centers globally. In April 2018, the global IT firm collaborated with long-term client and partner, British Telecom (BT) at the Adastral Park research campus, home of the world-renowned BT Labs to open the first Makers Lab in the UK. Tech Mahindra has also created Labs in four locations across India – at Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
